Research Interests:

The Liston laboratory works on understanding the interaction between the adaptive immune system and the tissues. The laboratory has extensive experience in the fields of autoimmune genetics, diabetes, primary immunodeficiencies, systems immunology, the thymus and regulatory T cell biology. Key areas of current research include:

  • Understanding neuroinflammation, and using regulatory T cells as a therapeutic to prevent neuropathology
  • Understanding the pathological process accompanying respiratory infection, and developing therapeutic strategies to avert pathology
  • Understanding the migration of T cells into the tissues and the adoption of tissue-residency programs
  • Developing platforms for ultra-high dimensional flow cytometry and downstream bioinformatic analysis

The laboratory has strong technical expertise in mouse immunology, clinical immunology, genetics, murine genome engineering and high-dimensional flow-cytometry.
