Research Interests:

Our research interest is to develop computational data analysis tools and mathematical modelling methods for analyzing and interpreting data generated by modern high-throughput biotechnologies, such as next-generation sequencing and mass-spectrometry-based proteomics. A specific focus is on biomedical applications in close collaboration with experimental and clinical groups to enable robust and reproducible interpretation of the molecular as well as clinical data. The ultimate goal is to improve the diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of complex diseases, such as diabetes and cancer. In ongoing studies we address the following topics:

  • Mining and modeling high-dimensional molecular and clinical data
  • Machine learning and predictive modeling in biomedical applications to predict individualized disease or treatment risks
  • Development of new data analysis methods and workflows to support cutting edge research in biology and medicine

We have strong expertise in analyzing and interpreting molecular and clinical data with more than 30 specialists in the various fields of bioinformatics and computational biomedicine. In addition to method development, we provide data analysis services for genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics and proteomics data using state-of-the-art bioinformatics software and in-house tools.
