Research Interests:

Our research focuses on the regulation of T cell responses in autoimmunity and bacterial infections.
In ongoing studies, we address the following research topics:

  • Role of T cells in autoimmune kidney diseases
  • Tissue-resident memory T cells of the kidney
  • Regulation of T cells by the transcription factor Interferon Regulatory Factor 4 (IRF4)
  • Ca2+ channels in T cell activation

For our research, we combine autoimmune and bacterial infection models of the mouse with knock-out and gene reporter mouse models. Characterization of immune responses is performed with multi-color flow cytometry, single-cell sequencing and different immunological, biochemical and molecular approaches.
