Research Interests:
We are interested in the pleiotropic roles of T cells in tissue (patho)physiology. We have a special interest in the lesser studied gamma-delta T cell lineage, aiming to dissect:
- their molecular mechanisms of differentiation, starting with the early steps of development in the thymus;
- their activities in inflamed tissues, including in infection (such as malaria) models, but also sterile inflammation leading to tissue degeneration;
- their pleiotropic roles in cancer, with the ultimate goal of designing novel immunotherapy strategies.
The experimental strategies used to address these questions include multi-color flow cytometry, bioimaging, next generation sequencing, biochemical and molecular approaches, retroviral-mediated gene transduction, and mouse genetic and disease models.
