Members of TCCE Europe received funding for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Integrated Training Network (ITN) "ENLIGHT-TEN+"

This network will

  1. integrate cross-disciplinary and highly innovative technologies to generate a novel view of tissue-resident T cells and understand the microenvironmental and molecular factors shaping their unique functional properties with unprecedented resolution;
  2. will apply this understanding to immune-mediated pathologies allowing us to selectively manipulate tissue-resident T cells in disease; and
  3. foster a new generation of enthusiastic young researchers able to analyse next-generation-sequencing data and to implement novel concepts of T cell biology into biomedical applications.

The network is coordinated by Jochen Huehn and among other participating PIs are also TCCE members Wilfried Ellmeier, Laura Elo, Luis Graca, Ludger Klein, Michelle Linterman, Michael Meyer-Hermann, Pärt Peterson, Benoit Salomon, Janneke Samson, Marc Veldhoen, and Lucy Walker part of the ENLIGHT-TEN+ ITN. The program is expected to start in 03/2021.

The PhD program in coordinated by Thomas Beilhack and the aim of the Else-Kröner Research College "Immunocontrol" is to provide a structured, clinical and science-oriented education in the field of immunology. The link between basic immunological research and translational conversion is to be strengthened by exemplarily demonstrating all steps from the identification of suitable target structures to the first clinical application to patients within the framework of the research college.
